The northern light is an atmospheric phenomena characterized by the colorful dance of light in the night sky. The lights are formed by the interplay of charged particles from the solar wind and from the upper layers of the Earth’s atmosphere. The lights can be seen clearly in all Iceland during wintertime. It is best to view the northern lights away from light polluted areas. Here we map a few good spots for viewing this beautiful phenomena.
