Cars - Car demolishing
Vehicles for disposal should be brought to acknowledged facilities*. Please contact the relevant municipality/reception area to obtain information before bringing it. It is necessary to confirm that the car is owned by the person delivering the car. A recycle payment of 15,000 ISK is paid for each car delivered with a certificate of delivery. The certifcate proves that the car has been delivered for recycling, and is no longer registered for driving. All hazardous chemicals that are taken from the cars are collected into special containers and sent to acknowledged, certified recycling facilities for recycling or legal disposal according to environmental law.
*Hringrás hf., Vaka hf. and Fura ehf. accepts cars and cleans hazardous chemicals for recycling.
